Steps Required When a Post-Doctoral Fellow Resigns

Definition

Resignation refers to the one of the ways in which the professional relationship between an individual post-doctoral fellow and UNM may be dissolved or suspended. With resignations the dissolution of the professional relationship is initiated by the post-doctoral fellow.

Complete resignation paperwork should reach the Faculty Contracts Office no later than the 7th of the month.

Instructions

Once notified of a Post Doc resignation the department, school or college should:

  1. complete the Post Doc Contract (Termination Section only),
  2. acquire the necessary signatures and
  3. submit to Employment Area to complete processing

  • Complete Post Doc Contract and Information Form (Include Forwarding Address)
  • Obtain Signature Approvals
  • Route to Faculty Contracts Office no later than the 7th of the month for processing
