How to Rehire Temporary Part Time Faculty? (EPAF)

Definition

The Electronic Personnel Action Form (EPAF) allows departments to process paperless personnel actions. EPAF's are simple, concise, and allow data to default into the document without manual data entry. The forms enable the University to process personnel actions rapidly, through an electronic approval process, providing an audit trail for personnel actions.

The Faculty TPT Rehire 1, 2, and 3 Semester EPAFs allow departments to rehire TPT Faculty that have gone through UNMJobs with an approved hiring proposal.

These EPAFs are utilized only if there is an existing approved hiring proposal for the TPT Faculty in UNMJobs for the same Position/Qualifications/Courses/Org.

The TPT EPAF is ONLY for Fall, Spring, and Summer semester rehires. Fall Intercession will be handled as they previously have been, by submitting appropriate documentation to your Faculty Service Office Representative.

The EPAF process is used to allow departments to rehire returning faculty who have an approved hiring proposal in UNMJobs.

Current Process

The employment transaction may be processed via Electronic Personnel Action Form (EPAF) starting November 19, 2012 for Spring 2013 transactions. If the EPAF process is not being used for the Spring 2013 rehires, then the rehire must be processed through UNMJobs.

For Summer Session all rehires of Temporary Part-time Instructors must be processed through EPAF.

In order to process transactions via EPAF please complete the required EPAF training.
